Real Actor's Lab

Sarah Gaboury is known for helping actors get out of their heads so they can actually tell the story—instead of killing it. An LA-based on-set acting coach, Sarah has worked with actors for over 20 years in the moments that matter most: behind the monitor, in the room, and under real production pressure. She regularly works on major television shows and films, collaborating with some of the most skilled creatives in the industry—and she brings that real-world experience directly back to her students. Sarah recently wrapped an indie feature dramedy shot in Newfoundland, Canada, starring J.K. Simmons, Abby Elliott, and John Reynolds. Her recent on-set coaching credits include the Netflix hit XO, Kitty, NBC’s This Is Us, Hulu’s Paradise, and Ryan Murphy’s Doctor Odyssey for ABC. Alongside her on-set work, Sarah coaches professional actors privately as they prepare for major roles in TV, film, and theatre. She is the founder of Real Actors Lab, where she teaches classes, leads workshops, and helps actors cut through noise, overthinking, and technique overload to do grounded, emotionally honest work. Sarah has trained with some of the most respected teachers in the field, including Larry Moss, Royal Shakespeare Company voice teacher Patsy Rodenburg, and Linklater-trained voice coach Adele Cabot. She works with actors at every stage—from emerging talent to seasoned professionals—and has coached across film and television sets, schools, camps, and theatre companies, including Off-Broadway’s LAByrinth Theater Company. Her goal is always the same: to help actors trust themselves, tell the truth, and do their best work when it matters most.
